Staple Down Install

Nailing or stapling down wood floor is the most common method for wood floor if a wood subfloor exists in your house.

Prior to laying a staple down floor, moisture barrier underlayment is laid down under the flooring.  Typically, the flooring is nailed through the tongue of the flooring board and the nails are nearly invisible after installation. This method of install is cost efficient and easy to repair.

Glue Down Install

The glue down method involves using adhesives to adhere the hardwood flooring to the subfloor, which must be dry and flat.  This method is ideal for slab subfloors.

While there are additional costs associated with a glue down install, it provides a solid flooring, minimizing sqeaks and creaks that can occur with stapled down floors.

We always use Bona Hardwood Floor Adhesive when installing glue down floors.
